Who We Are: Board

H. Art Taylor

President and CEO of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance

Under Art's leadership since July 2001, the BBB Wise Giving Alliance (give.org) has experienced significant growth and transformation. Overseeing all aspects of the organization's work, Art has not only set standards for charitable organizations but also produced essential resources for informed giving, promoting accountability, and fostering collaboration in the sector. His dynamic leadership has driven the Alliance to increase the number of reports on soliciting charities from 250 to over 1,400. His commitment to transparency led to the introduction of the Accredited Charity Seal, a widely recognized symbol of ethical practices, and the release of givesafely.io, the first charity donation platform using blockchain technology.

As an educator, Art integrates his extensive non-profit expertise into academia, lecturing at prestigious institutions like Columbia University, Georgetown McDonough School, the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at George Washington University, and the Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy. His initiatives, such as InterSessions and "Advancing Collaboration," and his co-authorship of "The Overhead Myth," reveal his forward-thinking approach and earned the Alliance the 2018 ASAE Foundation’s Innovation Award. Under Art's guidance, the Alliance has embraced the shifts brought on by technological advancements, big data, and changing demographics. His innovative leadership has been recognized four times by the Non-Profit Times, listing him among the top 50 most influential figures in the non-profit sector.

Before his tenure at give.org, Art led the Opportunities Industrialization Centers of America, Inc., earning recognition for his work in community development. He now serves as the Senior Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at Franklin & Marshall College and holds positions on various other boards, including Convergence Policy, American Non-Profits, as well as Institute for the Future (IFTF).

A respected figure in the media, Art's insights into charity accountability, transparency, governance, and strategy frequently shape public opinion. His academic accomplishments, including a BA from Franklin and Marshall College, a JD from Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law, and a foresight practitioner certificate from IFTF, underscore his dedication to ethical leadership in the non-profit sector.
